Discovering Manuel Antonio National Park: Costa Rica’s Most Magical Escape

Last year, I had the chance to experience Manuel Antonio National Park for the first time — and it was nothing short of magical.

As a travel planner, I’ve explored some truly stunning places across Costa Rica, but this one? It completely captured my heart. The lush rainforest, the sounds of wildlife echoing in the distance, and the sparkle of the Pacific Ocean — it’s everything you imagine Costa Rica to be, and more.

Whether you’re a nature lover, a beach seeker, or just someone looking for a bit of adventure, Manuel Antonio National Park is an absolute must-visit.

🦥 Why You Should Hire a Private Guide

Here’s my biggest tip: hire a private tour guide.

Trust me — it’s worth every penny.

Our guide was incredible. They helped us spot so many animals we would have easily missed — sloths, monkeys, toucans, iguanas, and even tiny red-eyed tree frogs. Thanks to their high-powered scopes and cameras, we saw up-close details of wildlife you’d never catch with the naked eye.

Guides in Manuel Antonio are certified and incredibly knowledgeable. They share fascinating facts about the rainforest ecosystem, the park’s conservation efforts, and even point out hidden treasures you’d walk right past on your own. It transforms the experience from a simple walk in the forest to a true wildlife adventure.

🌴 A Park That’s Easy to Explore

One of the things I loved most is how easy and accessible the park is. The trails are well-maintained, relatively flat, and shaded by lush canopy trees. It’s perfect for travelers of all ages and fitness levels.

You can take your time wandering through the paths, soaking in the tropical scenery, and stopping every few minutes to marvel at a new sound or sight — a chattering monkey, a rustling iguana, or a flash of color from a passing butterfly.

🏖️ The Beach That Took My Breath Away

After the tour, visitors can access a private beach located inside the park — and honestly, it’s one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen.

The sand is soft and white, the water is calm and crystal-clear, and the backdrop of the jungle creates a sense of total tranquility. It’s the perfect spot to relax, swim, or just let the day unfold naturally after your walk through the rainforest.

You can’t access this beach without a Manuel Antonio park ticket, which makes it feel even more special — secluded, peaceful, and pristine.

🌺 Returning in 2026 — Join Me in Paradise!

This coming February 1–7, 2026, I’ll be returning to Manuel Antonio as part of my Vegan Costa Rica Group Adventure — and I can’t wait to experience it all again, this time with my travelers!

We’ll explore the park together, enjoy delicious plant-based meals, soak in the sunshine, and connect with Costa Rica’s incredible wildlife and culture.

It’s the perfect mix of relaxation, adventure, and meaningful connection — and it’s truly one of my favorite places on Earth.

💚 Plan Your Own Costa Rica Adventure

If you’re dreaming about Costa Rica, whether you want to join one of my vegan group trips or plan a custom itinerary, I’d love to help make it happen.

I’ll take care of the details so you can focus on what matters most — relaxing, exploring, and experiencing the magic of Pura Vida.
